Government Encourages Investment in Hass Avocado Farming

Linda Auma, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Agricultural Committee, strongly urged Ugandans to plant more Hass avocados. Furthermore, she pointed out that the European market for Hass avocados is expanding rapidly, creating a lucrative opportunity for local farmers.

In addition, Auma noted that this development offers farmers a valuable chance to diversify and significantly increase their income by tapping into the growing export market.

Avotein Farms Secures Export Agreement with Spanish Company

Hani Dahian, the CEO of Avotein Farms Ltd, revealed that his company signed an agreement with a Spanish importer to supply 30 containers of Hass avocados before the year ends.

Moreover, Dahian urged Ugandan farmers to invest in avocado cultivation, emphasizing the steady and growing demand from European markets. Consequently, this partnership represents a crucial step for Uganda, as it strengthens the country’s position as a key player in the global avocado supply chain.
