African Leaders To Be Honored at PALESH Nigeria 2025
Several African leaders, including H.E. Ibrahim Traoré, the interim leader of Burkina Faso , are set to receive honors at the PALESH Nigeria 2025 event . The event, scheduled for April 5th, 2025, will be held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The United Nations International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC AFRICA) will confer the awards . The event aims to recognize and celebrate leadership and contributions to peace and governance in Africa. In addition to President Traoré, other notable figures will be present, including Her Excellency Chief (Dr) Jewel Howard Taylor, Former Vice President Of Liberia, who is a confirmed Keynote Speaker . HRM. OBA Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal Bello will be awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Leadership and Conflict Management , and His Royal Majesty Oba Prof. Alexander Olusegun MacGregor will be honored as a Commander of Peace.

Ibrahim Traoré has been the interim leader of Burkina Faso since the September 2022 coup d’état . Since becoming president, Traoré has initiated an ambitious program focused on improving healthcare and boosting agricultural productivity in Burkina Faso .Traoré has also planned to construct a monumental mausoleum in honor of Thomas Sankara .
