Analysts project Microsoft’s fiscal 2025 capital expenditure, including leases, will exceed $84 billion, with $20 billion already spent in the first quarter—a 5.3% year-on-year increase.
Focus on the United States
While the $80 billion investment is global, more than half will be allocated to data centers in the United States.
Microsoft’s Vice Chair and President, Brad Smith, noted that the US remains a leader in the global AI race, driven by private capital investment and a broad spectrum of American innovation.
