The Role
As a Child Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of child protection programs throughout Mozambique. Working under the guidance of the Child Protection Manager, you’ll contribute to creating effective strategies, providing technical support, and building partnerships to ensure children’s rights are upheld, particularly in conflict-affected areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and planning of child protection programs.
- Manage, monitor, and deliver results for assigned projects.
- Provide technical and operational support to program implementation.
- Build networks and partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
- Foster innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building.
- Support safeguarding of children throughout the program.
- Support training to military
Qualifications:
- A university degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or a related social science field.
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management within child protection.
- Fluency in English (Additional UN language proficiency is a plus).
Desirable:
- Experience working in a developing country, particularly in emergency contexts.
- Familiarity with UNICEF’s or other UN system agencies’ program development processes.
- Experience in both development and humanitarian settings.
- Knowledge of local Mozambican languages.
