Held at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill on March 22nd, the festival, now a recurring event, aims to promote African music, rhythms, and dance. “Jankalanga” itself is a word conceived by Wazumbi to represent the promotion of African culture through melodies and rhythms.

This year’s edition featured an array of talented artists, including Fanta Cissokho from Senegal, who showcased her versatility.

The Wazumbians, known for their thrilling live performances, presented “Sunshine,” a song from their new album. Past festivals have also included notable acts such as King Ayisoba and Bessa Simons. The festival’s atmosphere was electric, with attendees immersed in the rich tapestry of African sounds and traditions. The Wazumbians are planning a 2025 tour and working on a new album.
