Rome, Italy – Italy plans to revitalize a historic space center in Kenya to launch low-orbit satellites for Earth observation, particularly to monitor climate change.
The Luigi Broglio Space Center, located near Malindi, Kenya, will be repurposed to support scientific research and education.
The Italian government, in collaboration with Kenya, aims to utilize the facility to train local students, industry experts, and scientists. 
This initiative aligns with Italy’s Mattei Plan, a broader development strategy aimed at strengthening ties with African nations.
Italy hopes to support international initiatives to combat climate change and promote sustainable development by utilizing space technology.
