
The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2025, which took place from the 7th to 10th of May 2025 at the Eko Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria, aims to celebrate excellence in African film, television, sound, Make Up, Music, and digital content. This iconic event brings together actors, directors, content creators, and industry stakeholders from across the continent who stepped out in style, showcasing the beauty and brilliance of Nigerian and African Cinema.
The celebration kicked off on Thursday, May 8, with a night of icons and a lively Cultural Day celebration on Friday, May 9, and the awards Night on the 10th of May.
The event was truly remarkable, featuring performances from talented entertainers like Do2dtun, Blonde, Shody,Wanni & Handi, Young John, Johnny Drille, Arike’s star Kunmie and so much more.

There were 28 award categories in the 2025 AMVCA; 10 were chosen by public vote, and 18 were chosen by a team of business experts. In an effort to honor composers and sound designers, the Best Music Score category was also introduced,

There is also a significant increase in focus on innovation and diversity as regards African cinema.
