In a significant stride towards gender inclusivity in the technology sector, Glovo, in collaboration with She Code Africa and the Lagos State Government, has successfully concluded its inaugural Women in Tech Bootcamp, celebrating the graduation of 100 women. This 12-week intensive program was meticulously designed to equip participants with essential technical skills, mentorship, and career development opportunities, thereby fostering a more diverse tech landscape.

The curriculum offered specialized training in frontend development, backend development, and mobile development. Beyond technical instruction, the bootcamp incorporated career coaching, soft skills workshops, and hands-on capstone projects, ensuring a holistic preparation for real-world challenges in the tech industry. A highlight of the graduation ceremony was the presentation of top capstone projects, where participants showcased innovative solutions addressing issues such as financial literacy, food waste reduction, and academic productivity.

Lamide Akinola, General Manager of Glovo Nigeria, emphasized the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, stating, “At Glovo, we believe that true innovation comes from diverse perspectives. This bootcamp is just the beginning—one of our many steps in a long-term commitment to empowering women in technology and creating more inclusive opportunities in the industry.”
