It was announced today that Ghanaians can now travel to Morocco without applying for a traditional visa. This new policy was announced by the Ghanaian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, after a two-day official visit to Morocco.
This new arrangement, according to the minister, is part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s international ties. Ghanaians seeking to travel to Morocco will now only need online authorisation, after which approval will be given in 24 hours. The Minister confirmed that this new policy would make travel easier and stress-free for Ghanians wishing to visit Morocco.
Instead of applying for a visa through the Moroccan embassy, this approval requires no in-person interview or appointment.
Ghana and Morocco’s diplomatic and economic relations have advanced significantly with this new visa-free agreement. Additionally, it creates new avenues for business, cultural exchange, and tourism between the two countries.
The streamlined travel procedure eliminates long-standing obstacles and promotes more easy exploration of one of North Africa’s most exciting sites for Ghanaians. This initiative is another illustration of how smart alliances may boost connectivity and mutual progress throughout the continent as Africa continues to push for deeper regional integration.
