Ghana is preparing to launch one of its most ambitious digital initiatives yet, with plans to integrate over 16,000 government services into the Ghana.gov platform. The announcement was made by Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, during a press briefing outlining the next phase of Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

The move, spearheaded by the Ministry of Communication in partnership with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), is designed to drastically modernize public service delivery across the country. According to Minister George, the overhaul will make government processes more accessible, transparent, and efficient for both citizens and businesses.

Currently, the Ghana.gov platform hosts approximately 1,500 to 2,000 services, ranging from tax payments and business registrations to permits and licenses. The upgraded platform, expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2025, will provide faster access, integration with the Ghana Card, and a user-friendly interface designed to enhance turnaround times for service delivery.

“This initiative is about removing the barriers that make accessing public services cumbersome. Our goal is to create a digital-first government that truly serves the people,” Minister George stated.

The enhanced platform will undergo a public tender process before rollout, ensuring transparency and the adoption of best-in-class digital tools. The expansion aligns with the government’s broader effort to streamline public administration and reduce unnecessary bureaucracy.

“With the upcoming Ghana.gov expansion and new digital safety policies, Ghana is reinforcing its commitment to building a digitally responsible, citizen-centric public service ecosystem that prioritizes accessibility, innovation, and community values.
