The Ministry of National Security has issued a strict directive prohibiting drone operations in and around Black Star Square during the January 7 inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
In a statement signed by Lily Fati Soale, Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Information, the government clarified that the ban encompasses all drones, regardless of whether they are used for recreational or commercial purposes.
This precautionary measure aims to safeguard dignitaries, guests, and attendees from potential security threats during the high-profile event.
Drone operators have been advised to comply with the directive and adhere to all security measures to ensure a smooth and incident-free ceremony.
The Ministry has also appealed to stakeholders and the general public to cooperate fully with this mandate to facilitate a safe and successful inauguration.
