CANAL and NETFLIX, two streaming giants, have strengthened their iconic partnership by making a first-of-its-kind agreement, providing entertainment fans in French-speaking areas of Sub-Saharan Africa with access to more of their favorite Netflix series and films.
This agreement stems from the CANAL+ and Netflix partnership forged in 2019 for France and Poland. This agreement has now been extended to Sub-Saharan Africa. Through this agreement, CANAL+ will become a first-of-its-kind distributor of Netflix as part of its packages across 24 African countries. This agreement ushers in a new era of access to premium entertainment content for African users
This agreement will take effect in July, providing CANAL+ subscribers in French-speaking African countries with access to their favorite premium Netflix series and shows for a more optimized subscriber experience.

Although CANAL+ already offers quite an impressive roster of shows with over 400 live channels with 28 of those produced just for African audiences this new agreement will provide African users access to iconic Netflix content like Stranger Things, La Casa de Papel, Lupin, Emily in Paris and Squid Game alongside internationally successful African productions such as Blood & Water, Young Famous and African, Unseen, King of Boys, Anikulapo, Blood Sisters and Kings of Joburg.
This partnership is Netflix’s First in its region as it relies on CANAL+’s already established strength and presence in the region to launch this service.
