This move follows Chad’s abrupt termination of military cooperation with its former colonial power last month.
The handover of the Faya-Largeau base comes as French forces continue their phased withdrawal from Chad. The remaining troops in Abeche and N’Djamena are expected to depart in the coming weeks.
