The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to conduct the Final Draw for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 today, Monday, 27 January 2025, at the historic Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat. The ceremony will commence at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT) and will determine the group-stage matchups for the 24 qualified teams.

Qualified Teams and Seeding Pots:

The 24 teams have been allocated into four seeding pots based on their CAF rankings:

  • Pot 1: Morocco (hosts), Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire
  • Pot 2: Cameroon, Mali, Tunisia, South Africa, DR Congo, Burkina Faso
  • Pot 3: Gabon, Angola, Zambia, Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, Benin
  • Pot 4: Mozambique, Comoros, Tanzania, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Botswana

Notably, 12 of these teams have previously clinched the AFCON title, amassing a total of 28 championships. Egypt leads with seven titles, followed by Cameroon with five, and both Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria with three each.

Draw Procedure:

The draw will assign the 24 teams into six groups of four. Each group will comprise one team from each pot. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the Round of 16.
