Dubai, UAEEmirates has announced a significant expansion of its African network with the introduction of additional flights to key destinations: Entebbe, Uganda; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and Johannesburg, South Africa.

These service increases reflect Emirates’ commitment to Africa, a crucial market for the airline. Since its inaugural flight to Cairo in 1986, Emirates has steadily grown its presence on the continent, now serving 20 destinations and contributing significantly to the development of Africa’s air transport sector.

Key Enhancements:

  • Uganda: Daily flights to Entebbe have commenced, offering enhanced connectivity to popular destinations worldwide via Dubai.
  • Ethiopia: From January 1, 2025, Emirates will operate daily flights to Addis Ababa, providing convenient travel options for passengers from the Middle East and Far East.
  • South Africa: Emirates will add a fourth daily flight to Johannesburg, increasing its weekly service to 49 flights and offering a morning slot to and from the airport.

Strengthening Partnerships and Expanding Connectivity
