The tremor occurred in the evening hours, with its epicenter located near Ksar el-Kebir. Residents in several provinces, including Rabat, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Fes, Ouezzane, and Larache, felt the shaking. Nasser Jebour, head of the National Institute of Geophysics, confirmed the widespread impact of the quake. 
As of now, local authorities have not reported any casualties resulting from the earthquake. Assessments are ongoing to determine the extent of any structural damage in the affected areas.
This event follows a devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco in September 2023, resulting in significant loss of life and property damage. The recent tremor serves as a stark reminder of the region’s seismic activity.
