The Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX), which is run by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), has announced the second CANEX Prize for Publishing in Africa. This important award wants to acknowledge and honor great work in African writing and publishing. The person who wins will get $20,000, and the four runners-up will each get $2,000.

Publishers in Africa can submit books for consideration if they were released in the year before the award. The books can be in any official language of the African Union, like Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili, or other African languages. Books made and printed in Africa, especially those in local African languages, will be considered first.
