Kamsiyochukwu Anusi, an eight-year-old Nigerian boy, has made history by becoming one of the world’s youngest authors with the publication of his book, Adventures Round the Shining Egg. This accomplishment also designates him as Nigeria’s second youngest author and Africa’s third youngest, placing him sixth among the world’s youngest authors.
A Basic Four pupil at Mary Pearl Ville Academy in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Kamsiyochukwu’s passion for writing and storytelling led to this remarkable achievement. Born in Imo State and residing in Port Harcourt, he draws inspiration from his surroundings and the numerous storybooks his parents provided. He shared, “I read a lot of storybooks and one day I felt like I should write my own story. I tried it, and that was how the whole thing started.”
His book reflects his creativity and imagination, incorporating themes that promote positive values and morals. Kamsiyochukwu dedicated his work to his parents for their unwavering support and to God Almighty for inspiration and guidance. He also acknowledged his pastor, Dr. Chibueze Amadi, for imparting valuable lessons on respect, obedience, and perseverance.

Joy Esuku, Chairperson of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Rivers State Branch, expressed excitement about Kamsiyochukwu’s accomplishment and revealed plans to involve him in writing activities for children and teenagers to nurture his talent. Literary critic and editor of the book, Uduma Kalu, praised the young author’s raw talent and potential.
